Rosemary Banda recently moved from Massachusetts to be near her daughter who lives in Washington and is starting a family. “She wanted us to come help out with the babies. “I left New York City and moved directly to Leisure World,” said Angel Griffith, a mental health professional. Leisure World celebrated its 50th anniversary in September 2016. The occasion marked a milestone, recognizing the enduring value and beauty of our community along with the invaluable role residents have played over the decades in creating its culture.
Residents govern Leisure World and volunteer throughout the community. Our library, computer center, community foundation, and more than 90 clubs and organizations, including a network of book clubs, are run by residents.
